La tasa de inmigrantes irregulares fallecidos en el Mediterráneo ha aumentado en lo que va de año con respecto al mismo periodo de 2017, a pesar de la disminución en el número de los que completan la travesía.
La ruta entre Libia e Italia sigue siendo la más letal, con un migrante muerto por cada 18 que llegaron a Europa entre enero y julio, frente a un fallecido por cada 42 que cruzaron entre los mismos meses de 2017, según la ACNUR.
